Loz Netto Concise Biog
Professional status:Musician/Composer/Songwriter/Vocalist/Guitarist/Keyboardist/ Producer/Engineer/Programmer/Film maker.
Loz Netto started his professional career at seventeen playing guitar on tour for
Ben'E' King (Ex lead singer for The Drifters, playing songs such as 'Stand by Me' and
'Under the Boardwalk' He then joined the cult soul/funk band Moon as lead guitarist and
songwriter and signed to CBS records and Rondor music for publishing, the band
recorded two albums for the label
‘Too Close For Comfort’ in 1976 and ‘Turning The Tides’ in 1977 while touring
the UK and Europe extensively.
Loz then went on to become a founder member of the band 'Sniff 'n' The Tears'
and recorded a further two albums the first album ‘Fickle Heart’ engineered by Steve
Lipson became an acclaimed and award winning album the single ‘Drivers Seat’
became a critical and commercial success around the world, reaching number fifteen on
the Billboard chart in the USA in 1979 The single and album are still played extensively
world wide and is regarded as one of Steve Wrights favourite singles.
In 1992 the song Drivers Seat was used
in two highly successful advertising campaigns
in Holland and Germany, catapulting it into the
charts in these countries and reaching the No1
spot in Holland.
This success meant tours in Europe and the USA
After coming back from a three month tour of America the band went back in the studio
and recorded the second album ‘Games Up’ also engineered by Steve Lipson
While with the band Loz appeared on various T.V shows including Top of The Pops,
The Old Grey Whistle Test, European and U.S.A T.V
Unfortunately at this point Loz broke his arm in a motorbyke accident and was laid up
for many months, Loz used this time to write and demo songs and In 1982 Loz signed to
ATV music publishing, and later Polygram records, this was the beginning of his solo career.
Loz recorded his first critically acclaimed solo album Loz Netto’s BZAR in 1982 at
George Martins Air studio’s in Oxford Circus, London. His first single 'Fade Away'
appeared in the U.S top 40 in six weeks. The single also went top ten in Holland and
charted in most European countries. Loz recorded and Produced a second album at
Chipping Norton studios entitled ‘You Are Rhythm’ engineered by the legendary Barry
Hammond.
In 1986 Loz went on to record an album for Atlantic records published by Screen
Gems/EMI called ‘Loz Netto’
being personally signed by founder Ahmet Ertigun. Again the album received critical
acclaim and various songs were used in U.S films and T.V programs.
Loz also signed a publishing deal with EMI/Screen Gems in Los Angeles.
In 1988 Loz was commissioned to record an album for Gene Simmons L.A label
Simmons records, which he recorded and produced at his private studio’s in Suffolk.

The studio later went on to record albums for Betty Boo, album: ‘Boo Mania’ Thomas
Dolby, album: ‘Astronauts & Heretics’ Lene Lovich album: ‘March’ Plus many others.
Loz has also toured with:Tasmin Archer. ’Sleeping Satelite’ and played guitar in Paul
Young’s Los Pacamenos. In recent years (approxamately 2014 to 2019) prior to the
Covid 19 lockdowns Loz was touring extensively throughout the U.K and Europe with
The Sharpeez and recorded, mixed and mastered the album 'Wild One'.
Loz has recorded over 42 albums and has had his songs covered by Chaka Khan,
Joe Walsh, Rick James, Kenny Rogers, Rap artist Kool Kieth plus many others. Loz
has had songs placed in the movie remake `And God Created Woman` `Miami Vice`
plus songs and instrumentals placed in numerous T.V programmes internationally.
Over the years Loz has developed into a multi instrumentalist and a full time freelance
writer/composer of music for TV and film, he is currently working under commission
for various music publishing companies.
In 2021 Loz moved to spain where he built his new recording studio 'Sanctuary Studio's'
this is where he completed his most recent solo album entitled 'Friend or Foe'
written/recorded/produced and mixed by Loz while mainly playing all instruments
but featuring the excellent and much in demand Brendan 'O' Neil on drums. (Rory Gallagher,

Although Loz usually releases one production album per year this is his first self released Solo studio
album for fifteen years. The album is an upfront and in yer face tour de force, pulling no
punches, no ballads on this one.
